Patient Safety Grand Rounds: Sepsis Awareness Week

This special hospital-wide grand rounds during Sepsis Awareness Week will cover changing best practices and our progress in combatting the most common cause of mortality among patients admitted to SMH. 

Speakers include:

Anthony P. Pietropaoli, MD, MPH
Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine
Director, Medical Intensive Care Unit

Elise W. van der Jagt, MD, MPH
Professor of Pediatrics and Critical Care
Chief, Pediatric Hospital Medicine

Matthew Wilson
Sepsis Alliance member


Drs. Pietropaoli and van der Jagt will share updated best practices for both adults and children.  They will also show our performance compares to other hospitals in New York State and our risk adjusted mortality.

Mr. Wilson will share the story of his brother's battle with severe sepsis.

Lunch will be served.
