The Phelps Colloquium was founded in 2004 as “Lunch with the Provost” by former provost Chuck Phelps, who aspired to bring members of the academic community together in a relaxed setting to hear about research taking place campus-wide, spend time with colleagues outside their normal spheres, and promote cross-school and cross-discipline collaborations.
