Three SMD leaders will discuss the bidirectional relationships between wellness and professional behaviors, review the framework for promoting professionalism among faculty at the SMD including the SMD Faculty Professionalism Council, and discuss the effects of professionalism lapses on team functioning and patient safety. They will engage the audience to share stories and perspectives, aiming to identify what we all can do to support wellness and professionalism among our colleagues at URMC.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the participant will be able to:
1) Describe the potential bidirectional relationships between wellness and professionalism.
2) Describe available resources to support professional behaviors at URMC
including the SMD Faculty Professionalism Council.
3) Reflect on what each of us might do to support wellness and professionalism.
