Challenges and Controversies in Crafting a Comprehensive Evidence-Based Public Heath Response to the Opioid Crisis

Dr. Levine’s presentation will briefly review how the crisis unfolded and then describe the elements of a comprehensive public health response to the opioid epidemic.  He will portray the successes in prevention, treatment and harm reduction that have occurred in the context of ongoing challenges, discuss new innovations and their often-controversial aspects, and close with a primary prevention message of hope.
