Opioid Safety at UR Medicine

Still in the midst of an epidemic of climbing opioid overdose-related deaths, the importance of a multimodal and multidisciplinary approach to pain management and substance use disorder treatment, which attends to the physical health, behavioral health, long-term services, and supports, expected health outcomes, and well-being of each person, remains critical. The UR Medicine Opioid Safety Program aims to facilitate easier connections between departments and disciplines to improve sharing of information, prioritize efforts, and create sustainable changes as they relate to opioid safety initiatives within the institution.
