One of the leading experts in the history of Russian Literature and the author of seven books and six edited monographs, Petr Bukharkin is an internationally known scholar who taught for 40 years at Saint Petersburg State University as well as in Germany, Poland, India, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria and the US. He left Russia at the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine after making public statements condemning the war. He currently resides in Germany.
Professor Bukharkin's talk looks at Tolstoy's masterpiece in the context of the war in Ukraine.
