Why We Run (or Walk)

Your support and participation in the Rochester River Run will help hundreds of patients who come to Strong for heart, liver, kidney or pancreas transplant, and are often in need of financial assistance while awaiting and recovering from transplant surgery.

All proceeds from the Rochester River Run go toward helping our patients pay for incidental costs associated with the lifelong care transplant necessitates, such as life-saving medications and travel expenses. In addition to costly medical treatment, the need to travel – for some a great distance – adds financial strain on patients and their families.

The Rochester River Run/Walk 5K is an annual event sponsored by Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital’s transplant teams. Learn more about our transplant programs at urmc.rochester.edu/transplant.

*This year, all packet pick-up will occur at the park on the day of the event, between 8:30am and 10:30am.
