"Goddess Out of Exile" is an interdisciplinary performance piece uniting poetry, spoken word, song, and bellydance to present the female as goddess. It explores the history of female lineage and blood memory as the creator of retold history. Written and performed by Sharon Rula Backos, and joined by her daughter, Dylaina Alexandria Young, an adjunct professor of dance, this two-person collaboration is a search for creation itself, into the new paradigm of woman as creator.
