The Rochester River Run/Walk 5K returns to Genesee Valley Park on Sunday, April 2!

The River Run is an annual fundraiser sponsored by Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital and the hospital's organ transplant teams.

All River Run proceeds directly benefit heart, liver, kidney or pancreas transplant patients by providing supplemental financial assistance to those in need while they await and recover from surgery.

Your support will help hundreds of patients currently awaiting transplants, as well as those who continue to receive follow-up care from Strong.

How to Participate

Sign up for our scenic 5K race along the Genesee River by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, April 1 to receive the $35 pre-registration rate. Day-of registration increases to $40.

In collaboration with Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital, the hospital’s Transplant Units, and Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network, the Rochester River Run/Walk 5K fundraiser supports those who await, undergo and recover from transplant surgery. In observance of Donate Life Month, this event promotes awareness and educates the public about organ donation while commemorating organ donors and recipients each April. The event has raised more than $300,000 to help offset the costs of medical care and necessary follow-up associated with transplant procedures since 2002.
