Come to the Eastman Quad to mark 70 years to the minute since Rosa Parks was arrested for her courageous action in defiance of segregation, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Rush Rhees bells will join in a worldwide bell ringing event to mark the exact moment of her arrest. Attendees are encouraged to meet each other and discuss what we can learn from Parks’ legacy today.

Hosted by the Arthur Satz Department of Music
Cosponsored by Community Development & Engagement, University Student Life; and the Frederick Douglass Institute and Department of Black Studies
