This Sawyer Seminar roundtable event will provide an opportunity to build partnerships and trust between Rochester's Puerto Rican communities and local colleges and universities. Professors Marisol Galarza-Ruiz (MCC) and Dr. Nayda Pares-Kane (MCC) will moderate this public forum designed as an opportunity to share the needs and goals of the Rochester Puerto Rican community with faculty and students from different universities.

Featured panelists include Mercedes Vazquez-Simmons (District 28 community advocate, Pretty Girl Productions CEO), Luis Aponte (Monroe Ambulance community liaison), and Miguel Melendez, Jr. (Ibero-American Action League Chief Community Engagement Officer, Rochester City Council). This event is sponsored by the Sawyer seminar and the University of Rochester's Center for Community Engagement, and Monroe Community College.
