The School of Nursing invites faculty, staff and students to attend a special presentation by Portia Thomas, DNSc, RN-CNE, MPH, "It definitley was a process." Conceptualizing the PrEP Initiation Decision-Making Process Among MSM in the Southern U.S.
Thomas is a certified nurse educator and a clinical assistant professor at Mercer University in the College of Nursing. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Auburn University Montgomery and went on to complete a Masters of Public Health and Masters of Nursing in Nursing Education from the University of South Florida and Mercer University, respectively. She recently completed her Doctorate in Nursing from Kennesaw State University on PrEP decision-making among MSM. Her research interests includes eliminating health disparities and HIV prevention through biomedical and behavioral interventions in vulnerable populations, especially for men and women of color and sexual minorities.
A lunch will be provided starting at 12 p.m.
