About this Event
Featured Speaker: Alisha Moreland-Capuia, MD, MACPsych, founder and director, Institute for Trauma Informed Systems Change (ITISC), McLean/Harvard Medical School will present: Building Trauma-Informed Organizations and People: Why Healing Must Be the Way Forward
Dr. Moreland-Capuia’s interactive lecture will explore the neuroscience of connection, mattering and belonging; discuss the role of historical trauma; the utility of trauma-informed systems change as a response to the great re-evaluation and what individuals and organizations can do to move toward healing and to become trauma informed. The 21stcentury workforce is expecting the 21st century workplace (and systems) to pivot to move toward becoming more relational and less transactional. This pivot will involve building trauma informed systems by understanding key relationships between fear, stress, trauma, healing, and prevention of re-traumatization. You will emerge from this talk with new language and tools to help you create the conditions for healing and mattering.
