About this Event

https://www.library.rochester.edu/rbscpFancy some tea? Join us in Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation in Rush Rhees Library for short and informal community talks on a variety of rare objects from our collections. Tea and treats available at every talk.
At this event, RBSCP archival assistant and URochester graduate Jay Kinde presents a very special Rochester scrapbook. The William Wilkinson Scrapbooks (1948-1960) provide an extensive and eye-catching glimpse into mid-twentieth century Rochester, NY. The scrapbooks record Rochester history through newspaper clippings, commentary, ephemera, and hand drawn artwork. Jay has chosen a page that tells the story of the boulder on campus memorializing Thomas Thackery Swinburne, writer of The Genesee.
