The TRANSFORM Research Center invites you to join a free 3-hour intensive bystander training exclusive for our Rochester community. "Support Over Silence for KIDS" is a call to action that gives community members the skills to confidently defuse challenging moments between a caregiver and their child in public. Nancy L. Weaver, PhD, MPH, Professor of Behavioral Science at Saint Louis University, created this program to educate community members on how to listen empathetically and non-judgmentally to caregivers in tense situations to help deescalate what’s happening in the moment. For your convenience we are offering three dates (April 22, April 26, May 4) for this important training - classes will be held via Zoom

The TRANSFORM Center is a unique partnership between the University of Rochester (UR) and the University of Minnesota (UMN) with support from the Educational Development Center, Inc. TRANSFORM research is jointly conducted at the UR’s Mt. Hope Family Center and UMN’s Institute of Child Development. The TRANSFORM Community Engagement Core (CEC) is housed at UR’s School of Medicine and Dentistry in the Department of Psychiatry,  the Laboratory of Interpersonal Violence and Victimization (LIVV) and the Susan B. Anthony Center.
