Philosophy-Physics Symposium: Keynote Lecture by Dr. Robert P. Crease. Crease is a renowned philosopher and historian of science, currently serving as a Professor of Philosophy at Stony Brook University and the official historian for Brookhaven National Laboratory. With a career spanning over three decades, his work explores the vital intersection of the physical sciences and the humanities. He is widely recognized for his long-running monthly column, "Critical Point," in Physics World, where he examines the philosophical underpinnings of scientific discovery and the evolving relationship between science and society.

A prolific author and a Fellow of the American Physical Society, Dr. Crease has written or co-authored nearly 20 books, including The Great Equations and The Workshop and the World. In 2021, he was awarded the Kelvin Medal and Prize by the Institute of Physics for his outstanding contributions to the public understanding of physics. His talks are celebrated for their unique ability to bridge technical expertise with historical narrative, offering physicists deep insights into how scientific authority is established and maintained in a modern cultural context.
