Before We Begin: Using Mind-Body Awareness and Mindfulness to Effectively Engage in Race-Related Conversations
Inspired by the book, Waking up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race by Debby Irving (Barnes & Noble in College Town has ordered copies for purchase), this summer’s presentations are geared toward learning about and engaging in critical reflections and conversations to help combat racial disparities.
The Department of Psychiatry 7th Annual Brown Bag Series will be held every Wednesday from noon to 1 pm at Helen Wood Hall Auditorium. with an optional discussion time from 1pm to 1:30pm.
The series is cosponsored by the Department of Psychiatry, URMC Inclusion & Cultural Development Office, W.I.S.H., The CACHED Office, Office of Human Resources – Staff Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Neurology & Child Neurology, Office of Faculty Development and Diversity, and the Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center.
