The Nancy S. & Peter O. Brown Guest Lectureship in the Art & Architecture of Ancient Civilizations.

Dr. Thomas Garrison of Ithaca College will speak on exciting new Classic Maya archaeological data provided by digital surveying and remote sensing technologies.  Thousands of new, previously undetected structures revealed by these technologies are revolutionizing our understanding of the size, density, and settlement patterns of this advanced Central American society.  An archaeologist specializing in the Maya civilization, Dr. Garrison serves as the Director of the Proyecto Arqueológico El Zotz, an international, multidisciplinary research project in Guatemala.
