The Shtetl Kitchen: New World Jewish Cooking Inspired by the Old World

Liz Alpern and Jeffrey Yoskowitz, co-founders of The Gefilteria and co-authors of celebrated cookbook, The Gefilte Manifesto, invite you for an evening of dynamic discussion on eastern European Jewish foodways, past and present. Their research has led them on several trips to the Old Country, where they've made exciting discoveries about seasonal Jewish eating, holiday cooking and culinary wisdom which have forever transformed everything they thought about their own gastronomic heritage. Jeffrey and Liz will share their passion for goose, gefilte fish, cabbage, kugel and more. This talk goes to the heart of Ashkenazi culture and will, of course, be followed by a nosh.

Free parking is available in the Library Lot.
