On the third Thursday of each month, October through May, the Eastman School of Music and the Memorial Art Gallery present varied concert programs by faculty and guest artists featuring Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ.
This program showcases French and Italian music during the time of King Louis XIV. Members of the dynamic European orchestra Il Giardino d'Amore will be joined by early dance specialist Hubert Hazebroucq (shown), who will demonstrate the artful relationship between Baroque dance and music.
The concert will feature solo and collaborative performances of music and dance, with music by Couperin, Lully, Rameau, Uccellini, and Vivaldi. Guest musicians include early music specialists Stefan Plewniak and Katarzyna Kalinowska (baroque violin), and Etienne Galletier (theorbo). They will be joined by doctoral students Cora Swenson Lee (baroque cello) and Malcolm Matthews (organ and harpsichord) from the Eastman School of Music.
Made possible by the Rippey Endowed Trust.
