The last concert of the season features Innominatum, an Eastman-based early music ensemble, joined by Eastman DMA candidate Caroline Robinson on harpsichord and organ. Together they will perform a collection of seventeenth-century sonatas for quintet from the major countries of Western Europe, with music by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Jean-Marie Leclair (France); Johann Michael Nicolai and Johannes Rosenmüller (Germany); Antoni Bertali (Italy); and John Jenkins (England).
The Innominatum string quintet was formed from the Eastman Collegium Musicum in 2018 by Ryan Cheng (baroque violin, tenor viol, bass viol), Lydia Becker (baroque violin), Adrienne Hyde (bass viol, baroque cello), Charlie Reed (treble viol, bass viol), and Alice Chuaqui Baldwin (continuo). Together, they are actively engaged in the North American early music scene, having performed at American Bach Soloists, the Tafelmusik Winter Institute, and the Boston Early Music Festival Fringe Concert Series.
Featuring Eastman’s Italian Baroque Organ. Made possible by the Rippey Endowed Trust.
