About this Event
400 Alumni Rd, Rochester, NY 14627
All are invited to attend a panel discussion and reception with original members of the Gay Liberation Front, local LGBTQ+ leaders, and student members of PRIDE. A reception will follow the panel.
This event is part of a special yearlong celebration of Todd Union’s addition to the National Register of Historic Places. The Gay Liberation Front student group meetings originally held in Todd Union in the 1970s directly paved the way for numerous Rochester-based LGBTQ+ organizations that continue their work and advocacy today.
The intent of the Todd Union National Register listing is to formally identify the building as a historic landmark as well as to recognize the importance of the Gay Liberation Front student group, the courage of its members, and the immense impact the group has had and continues to have on the LGBTQ+ movement in Rochester and surrounding communities.
