In recent years, several advances in the treatment of bladder cancer at all stages have been achieved. In response to the BCG shortage, alternative intravesical therapies have proven to show efficacy and several other treatments currently in clinical trials also show promise. There have been further advances in our understanding of the management of lymph node positive disease, the role of lymph node dissection during radical cystectomy, and patient-centered considerations for selection of urinary diversion. Novel combination systemic therapies for patients with advanced disease/metastatic disease have also shown promising efficacy. This symposium will provide updates on recent advances in the treatment of patients with bladder cancer.
