About this Event
Warner Wednesday Talk: Global Perspectives on Teacher Burnout and Sustaining a Teaching Career
Presenters: Adam Smith (England), Rima Ibdah (Israel), and Jouni Kupiainen (Finland)
Introduction: Hairong Shang-Butler
Teacher burnout is by no means a new issue globally. However, it remains just as pressing in 2025 as ever before. With experienced teachers leaving their classrooms for “less stressful” careers, and fewer early-career educators willing to step into those roles, the impact of burnout is larger class sizes, strained school resources, and diminished educational outcomes for today’s students around the world. In this talk, Fulbright DAI teachers from England, Israel, and Finland will share their insights into how current education policy affects the longevity of a teacher’s career in their countries.
