Warner Wednesday Talk: History and Evolution of Noyce Programs in the Center for Professional Development & Education Reform
Presenters: Michael Occhino, Cathy Cerosaletti, Cindy Callard, Jen Kruger
NSF-funded Noyce programs have been a cornerstone of the Center for Professional Development and Education Reform, advancing the professional growth of exceptional STEM educators in high-needs schools. These programs have shaped much of the Center’s work over the years, fostering innovation and leadership in STEM education. Join us as we journey through the evolution of our Noyce initiatives. We will begin by looking back at our foundational Master Teaching Fellowship (MTF) project, then fast-forward to our recently funded project designed to prepare teacher leaders for the rapidly expanding microelectronics and semiconductor industries in New York. We will highlight our contributions to two large-scale collaborative Noyce research projects, which brought together a consortium of universities nationwide. And we will share our pivotal role in leading the Northeast Noyce Professional Learning Network (PLN), which is driving regional change. Come discover how these programs have been instrumental in shaping our growth and establishing the Center as a national leader in professional learning for STEM teachers and teacher leaders.
