The launch of ChatGPT less than a year ago, followed by the rapid development of other accessible generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools, has caught educators’ attention because of its potential to cause a radical disruption in education.  Indeed, GenAI tools are challenging many traditional assessment practices and even what students should learn, while at the same time providing new resources to support learning and instruction we could not even have imagined a few years ago. While nobody is an expert in this emerging field, the LiDA Center will share some foundational ideas and considerations to invite and inform future explorations of this fascinating new field.
