About this Event
500 Wilson Blvd, Rochester, NY 14627
https://www.warner.rochester.edu/newsevents/story/2543In this presentation, we will discuss practices in K-12 music classes (e.g., repertoire, ensembles, performances, competition). Attendees will examine their previous school music experiences, reflecting on how well their school music experiences aligned with their personal (musical) values, interests, and preferences. Together, we will brainstorm ways to honor traditions of the past while creating a more inclusive and responsive musical future for all students in school music.
Presented by Mara Culp, Assistant Professor of Music Teachingh and Learning at the Eastman School of Music.
Warner will be providing a baked potato bar and salad. As always, you are welcome to bring your own bagged lunch. Food will be available starting at 11:45am. Please feel free to arrive early so we may start the talk promptly at noon. For disability-related accommodations, please contact Mary Judge Diegert at (585) 275-2454 or email mjudge@warner.rochester.edu.
