College is a time of transition – for many students, it’s the first time they’re living on their own and taking care of themselves while being exposed to multiple stressors- this is a particularly vulnerable time for students to develop eating disorders. According to the National Eating Disorders Association, 32% of female-identifying college students and 25% of male-identifying college students suffer from an eating disorder. According to The Trevor Project, 54% of transgender youth are diagnosed with an eating disorder. This introductory 1 hour workshop will highlight some of the particular challenges impacting college students with eating disorders, highlight some misconceptions about eating disorders, and share practical strategies to support students.

Open to all faculty and student support staff. More information on locations of workshops and registration available on MyPath by looking up the workshop title. Learn more about and register for the self-paced Well-being for Life and Learning Training Program
