DESCRIPTION:College is a time of transition – for many students\, it’s the
first time they’re living on their own and taking care of themselves while
being exposed to multiple stressors- this is a particularly vulnerable time
for students to develop eating disorders. According to the National Eating
  Disorders Association\, 32% of female-identifying college students and 25%
of male-identifying college students suffer from an eating disorder. Accor
ding to The Trevor Project\, 54% of transgender youth are diagnosed with an
eating disorder. This introductory 1 hour workshop will highlight some of
the particular challenges impacting college students with eating disorders\
, highlight some misconceptions about eating disorders\, and share practica
l strategies to support students. \n\nOpen to all faculty and student supp
ort staff. More information on locations of workshops and registration avai
