Artificial intelligence is transforming the world of work, but what does that mean for students? Will AI create new opportunities? Will it disrupt the career paths higher education is built around? How will government policy shape the pace and direction of this change? And what skills will matter most in the years ahead?

If you've been wondering how AI will affect your job prospects, join Professor David Primo for “The Robots Are Coming: Will AI Take Your Job?” This panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 7:30–9:00 PM in Wegmans Hall 1400. No registration is required.

The panel will feature experts with diverse perspectives on technology and the economy. Molly Kinder of the Brookings Institution studies how automation affects workers and inequality. Will Rinehart of the American Enterprise Institute focuses on how innovations like AI shape job creation. Moshe Vardi, a computer science professor at Rice University, has warned that AI will be a net job destroyer. They’re coming to Rochester to discuss how AI is changing the future of work—and what that means for you. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions during the panel.
